A Queen Reveals Her Magical Success Formula and a Mission to Change This World
Who are you, sister? Tell us a little about yourself. I’m Sarah Hague and I live in Bellevue, Washington with my wonderfully crazy family (Mom, Dad, baby brother, and our two cats).
I work full time at an awesome used bookstore and spend the rest of my waking hours working on my small business, doing astrology readings and writing about all things magical and mystical.
I’m an Elevate ’16 sister and a counselor at Summer Camp this year.
I’m a Leo Sun, Virgo rising, and Scoprio Moon. So I’m enthusiastic, bubbly, passionate, dramatic, organized, trivia-obsessed, a lifelong learner, emotional, sarcastic, intuitive, brave, and interested in anything weird and woo woo.
Let’s do some one word answers. Ready, set, go!
Morning Drink? Chocolate almond milk
Indulgence? Going floating
Lusting after? A peaceful and relaxing beach vacation to the Oregon Coast.
Spirit Animal? Hawk
Head Space? Focused, busy, filled up with ideas and possibilities
Heart Space? Open, hopeful, nervously excited for the future
Bloom of Choice? Peonies
Turn-on? Tall, dark, handsome, passionate men (basically Aidan Turner in a nutshell)
Go-to Gemstone? Smoky Quartz + Aquamarine
Celebrity Icon? Amy Schumer + Rihanna
Favorite compliment? “You are such a bright light here.”
What does practicing joy mean to you? Always asking myself, “how can this be more enjoyable?” Taking time for small moments of pleasure, like sleeping in on my days off or getting macarons with a friend just because it was Wednesday. Planning big adventures so that I always have something to look forward to. Keeping a positive attitude throughout the day; I work in customer service so I am constantly re-learning that I can choose how I want to feel in every moment regardless of what is going on around me. And if all that fails I go on Tumblr and look at silly pictures until I’m laughing so much I can’t feel anything else but joy.
Biggest life lesson you’ve learned lately? That I’m only alone if I choose to be. I’m not naturally the type to reach out when I’m feeling scared or sad or lonely, but I’m learning over and over again that if I’m brave enough to reach out, I have amazing people in my life who are safe places for me to land. I was bullied a lot as a kid so I stopped sharing my true authentic self out of fear, and it’s only been in the last two or so years that I’m finally overcoming the fear that everyone will reject me. The wonderful women I’ve met in the Stratejoy community have been an enormous part of this growth!
What’s your definition of success? Big picture? Freedom. Financial freedom, time freedom, and creative freedom. Everyday? I feel successful on a daily basis when I show up fully, keep my promises to myself and others, and try my hardest. I’m honestly happy with my life as it is and lit up by the future I’m working towards, and that feels very much like success to me.
Name 3 things from your Life List that light you up.
Road trip to all US National Parks
Move to Montana
Go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
What do you do when life gets messy? Breathe. Remember why I am doing what I’m doing, focusing on the bigger picture. Fully feel what I’m feeling instead of wishing I was feeling something else. Remember that life goes on and I will most likely feel much better after a good night’s sleep. Give myself a break to have a not so great day and relax. I take full advantage of my “good” days so that I can use my “off” days to read, practice self care, and binge watch terrible TV shows.

What are you doing in an alternate universe? Alternate universe Sarah is an adventurous nomad who splits her time between teaching and volunteering abroad, and being a nature photographer for National Geographic. Regular Sarah would miss her cats, Netflix, and Beecher’s grilled cheese.
How are you going to change the world? My mission in life is to show everyone how magical they are. This means sharing stories and ideas that will empower other women and creating a community where their authentic selves are celebrated. Whether that is astrology, numerology, tarot, or more traditional areas of personal development, I want to be a positive and empathetic proponent of women’s self love and self development.
